今回は特別ゲストとしてBluetooth SIGの木和田氏を迎え、Bluetooth SIGの日本での活動状況、そして皆さんが高い関心をもっている『Bluetooth認証』をテーマにSIGの公式見解を完全解説します。

Bluetooth SIGからのアップデート – 国内における取り組み

Bluetooth SIG, Inc.のDevelopment and Relations Managerである木和田氏から、日本国内におけるSIGの最近の取り組みについてご紹介いただきました。

木和田氏は、各国における市場分析や戦略の作成、様々な企画等に携わっています。

１．コンテンツの追加

和訳のKBA（Knowledge Base Articles、ナレッジベース資料）を新たに9個追加し、昨年までに合計10個の追加が完了しています。今後も継続してKBAの追加と更新を行う予定です。

また、今後SIGではトレーニングビデオを企画・予定しております。Bluetoothの基礎的な内容（例えば、なぜ認証する必要があるのか、組織の背景など）についてまずは英語版のビデオを企画しており、その後日本語版も制作する予定です。

２．プロセスの効率化

メンバー企業内のListing Transfer（リスティングの譲渡）がユーザーレベルで可能になりました（但し、リスティングの取り下げは非対象）。

また、Launch Studioの改良により、ページの読み込み平均速度が3倍速くなりました。その他にも、Product Listing情報のBulk Upload機能により、Excelのテンプレートを使用して複数の追加リスティングを纏めてアップロードできるようになりました。

３．情報のアクセシビリティ

木和田氏）
KBAをさらに使いやすくするために、KBA内のハイパーリンクの数を増やし、Launch Studio内にもKBA資料へのリンクを追加しました。これにより、気になった項目への関連資料へアクセスが容易になりました。

また、言語ごとにKBAの目次を追加し、日本のユーザーにとって分かりやすいKBAの提供を目指しています。

Bluetooth SIGでは、情報をより分かりやすくお伝えするためのアップデートを行ってきており、先日ムセンコネクトで取り上げた『Do I Need to Qualify?』のKBAも最近アップデートされました。

ALL Bluetooth® Products Must Be Qualified
Product qualifications cannot be inherited from your supplier, you must complete the qualification of your product for yourself
You can only qualify your products under your member company’s account and only by completing the Bluetooth Qualification Process
It may be possible to complete product qualification by adding the product as a new model to one of your existing qualifications. Or you may need to create a new qualification which may require testing to be completed. The Bluetooth Qualification tool, Launch Studio, can guide you through the appropriate path.

例えば、同じ携帯電話の色違い、内蔵メモリ量が異なるタイプなど、Bluetoothの設計自体には変化がない場合、取得済みのBluetooth認証に対して追加のListingを行うことで、認証を完了することが可能です。一方、Bluetooth設計が変わる場合は新たなTestingが発生し、申告IDの取得が必要となる場合もあります。

第４パラグラフ

Bluetooth products must be qualified on or before the date that you begin to sell or distribute the product. The details you provide for each Bluetooth product listing must exactly match the product, its packaging markings, and marketing materials. Products which appear to have not completed the Bluetooth Qualification Process may be impounded by customs authorities and will be subject to Bluetooth SIG enforcement actions.

残念ながら、このような事例が実際に起きているということを最初にお伝えしたいと思います。その上で、アメリカのみならず日本国内や他アジア諸国においても税関、そして法律事務所などと連携しつつ、輸出入品に対してLaunch Studio Product Databaseで登録されているその製品名・モデルナンバーを照らし合わせ、認証取得状況や商標の使用について確認をしています。SIGからの督促事例については次の記事でも解説しています。

If you are a retailer or supplier selling or distributing another organization’s qualified Bluetooth product, and you are not adding any logos, branding, or representing the product as your own, you do not need to complete the Qualification Process for the product. However, you should ensure that the product has been properly qualified. You can check to see if a product is properly qualified by referring to the Bluetooth Product Listing Database.

もし、他社で認証済みのBluetooth製品を販売する小売業者や流通に携わるサプライヤーであり、ロゴやブランドを追加したり、自社ブランドとして販売しない場合は、Bluetooth認証の取得は必要ありません。ただし、その製品自体は他社が適切にBluetooth認証を取得していることは確認しておく必要があります。製品自体が適切にBluetooth認証が取得できているかについては、Bluetooth製品データベースを参照して確認することができます。

例えば、メーカーAのBluetooth認証済みヘッドフォンを家電量販店で販売していた場合、家電量販店は小売業者としてSIGメンバーになり、認証を行う必要はありません。ですが、WEBサイト上などでその製品を表示する場合も、必ずWEBサイト上に記載する製品名と認証を取得した際の製品名と同一の情報を掲載することが必要です。

A member choosing not to use the Bluetooth trademarks must still be compliant with the Bluetooth Patent & Copyright License Agreement. Members are encouraged to review the conditions of the license agreements and consult their legal counsel with any questions regarding the applicable requirements. We are unable to provide any legal advice, including the ramifications resulting from a member’s failure to adhere to the procedures set out in the Bluetooth SIG’s operative, governing documents. For these reasons, we advise that each member company completes the defined processes to ensure they demonstrate and declare compliance to both license agreements.
